  2. Hi Sree,
There is no problem in this way. Now a days lot of pilgrims used to Srivarimettu to climb Tirumala hills. I advise to go in groups and in day time.

You can reach Srivarimettu by TTD buses which is started from Tirupati Bus stand. If you wish to visit Srinivasa Mangapuram, go to Srinivasa Mangapuram by bus or local transportation. From there, you can reach Srivari mettu by sharing auto-rickshaw.

Is there luggage transportation facility like in Alipiri ?
Also, at which place in Tirumala does the steps of Srivari mettu terminate?

  4. Hi Sree,
Unfortunately, there is no luggage transportation facility just like in Alipiri. And Srivarimettu foot ways are terminated near to Vaikuntam Q complex.

  6. Hi Govardhan,
I'm not sure which one is best. As per my knowledge both are same.

    ReplyDelete
  7. @Govardhan: You need to carry ID proof along with printout of your e-sudarsanam ticket.
Divya darsanam and e-sudarsanam will give the same darshan. The entry point into the queue complex may differ.
You can call TTD 24X7 call center 0877-2277777 for further clarifications.

  10. It took 100mts for us [we both 40plus parents and my 2sons aged 12 and 8yrs]

we had enough rest en-route srivari mettu.

I am quite surprised about the travel time and it is a excellent route to reach tirumala

  11. In my view, srivari mettu is good and nice route compared to alipiri because not much rush and not so many deviation because you dont see any shop and good to trek with devotion of GOD VENKATESHWARA.

In fact, Srivari Mettu is a much older pedestrian path to the hill shrine than from Alipiri and is believed to have been used by legendary emperor Srikrishnadevaraya in the 16th century.
However, it had remained defunct for many years before TTD had renovated it a couple of years ago and started encouraging pilgrims to use that path.

Any way its depending upon the persons.

  18. Hi Suneel garu,

Could you please say from where to obtain Divya Darshan tickets if we go through Srivari Mettu?

    ReplyDelete
  19. You can get tickets in the middle of the way that is at the 1050 step from Srivari mettu. Note that the way is opened from 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM only. It is also note that the Divya Darshan facility is provided for only the pedestrian who come on foot to Tirumala from Alipiri or Srivari Mettu.

  20. hi suneel garu thanks for the article and information. i have a doubt about divya darshanam. at what time we can have divya darshanam. can we go for darshanam immediately after climbing alipiri or srivari mettu steps?? or will there be specific time for darshanam. if so wht is the approximate delay for darshanam after climbing the steps???

    ReplyDelete
  21. Are the pedestrians to Thirumala expected to walk bare foot?
Since fewer people walk, compared to those who take the bus, is the Divya Darshan a faster way to have Darshan compared to buying a ticket?
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes Prabakaran! Devotees belive to walk bare foot.
Most of the times the Divya Darshan is faster way to have Darshan compared to buying tickets

  23. Thanks for sharing all this information. I have been to Tirupati 2 times but don't think all this that you have shared. Now, i am in Hyderabad for some time and will go by walking because otherwise, it is very problematic to do the Darshan if you reach directly at the top. And also, if I go by walk, i would be able to spend the more time in that serene environment.

  24. Good review. You have told the reality. Its not confusing and give clear idea to the pilgrims. Nice work.

  26. Thanks for the really good info.

I had been to Thirumala (via Alipiri route). We were not knowing the facility of:

    1. Luggage deposit and collection facility
    2. Free accommodation
    3. Free meals etc.

Divya Dhrshan and our experience of walking 11 KMs without any problem was fantastic experience in life. We never felt tired. The scenic views, devoted pilgrims, etc made our trip so wonderful.

As far as possible one should avoid taking vehicles to the temple premises.

May Lord Venkateswara bless all of us.

    Mani Nair
