Gigantic Shiva statue at Kempfort, Bengaluru

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.”
– Mark Jenkins

Kempfort is the landmark shopping center on old Airport Road, Bengaluru. Besides its exterior the mall itself has nothing special to offer, the main attraction however, can be found at the back. At the back of the shopping mall there is a Shiva temple with its gigantic Shiva and Ganesha statues inside the old Kempfort campus. This is a rather unusual scene comparing to other normal Hindu temples.

The Shiva statue takes the prime attention. Lord Shiva is seated in Lotus position having a backdrop of Himalayas surrounded by a pond. Also, a depiction of River Ganga flowing from his head and falls into a small pond.

The Shiva statue is around 65ft high and is considered to be one of the highest in India. Another attraction here is God Ganapathi's Statue which is 35 feet tall. These two gigantic statues are the main attraction here.

They also have a small tour of different Shiva pilgrimage centers across India made into a miniature exhibition. The temple is kept very neat and you will also find music concerts happening here in the evening.
